YDC MEET INFORMATION

Information about each swim meet we attend can be found within each swim meet sign-up. You can find the sign-up info either on the Home Page or through the Swim Meets Section above. By clicking on the meet you are interested in attending (example YMCA State) you will find important meet information such as the meet date, location, how many events you can swim each day, warm-up times and meet start times, meet costs and more. At the bottom of each meet sign-up documents are listed including the official meet info from the meet host, eligibility reports (a.k.a. qualifiers), meet entries & relays (once they are finished) and meet timelines.

Please note that meet timelines are not available until the meet host sends them out after they have gotten all the entries for their meet. Timelines usually aren't sent until a few days before the actual meet start. Once timelines and any other important meet information are received we will post it on our website as soon as possible. It is not a requirement for a meet host to send a meet timeline that lists start times for every event so in some cases we will not receive one, but we will always send out info about warm-up and meet start times.

You can also find more info about meets under Meet Information. There is information about the YMCA and USA State Meets, YMCA Nationals and even info about Away Meet Hotels for the meets we travel to. Our website lists a lot of great info about our meets. If you are having trouble viewing some of the information try logging in because some of the meet info might be private. If you have questions please contact Head Coach Shane Ryan.

YDC SWIM MEET EXPECTATIONS

As  we  start competing in meets I wanted to send out some information about our expectations to get everyone on the same page. We have guidelines set in place for the teams best interest and to be fair to everyone on the team. Like any strong organization our strength comes from unity. If you have any questions please contact Shane Ryan.

Please have your swimmers on deck and ready to warm-up in their suits and caps 10 minutes before the start of warm-ups. It is important that swimmers are on time so that we can get in and warm-up as a team. Being late disrupts warm-up and it is not fair to your teammates, coaches or other teams. Immediately after warm-ups we will have a team meeting to hand out relay cards, get everyone situated, talk about any important issues and to do a team cheer. Please note that swimmers who are late or miss warm-ups without letting the coaches know ahead of time may be penalized and not allowed to swim in a relay (if we have extra swimmers). Warm-up times are posted within the meet info on the website in the swim meets section. Any updates about the meet will be sent through Team Unify.

After races it is important that swimmers touch base with their coaches to talk about their race. Please make sure your swimmers come over after their races to find their coach. Swimmers will learn most and will improve more after discussing their races with their coaches. We will do our best to provide feedback to each swimmer. If a swimmer needs to leave early from a meet please let the coaches know ASAP. If we have to scratch a relay because a swimmer is absent and we cannot find a replacement the missing swimmer will be responsible for the entire relay entry fee.

The coaches will bring latex team caps to the meets. All swimmers must wear a Waves team cap while competing. Swimmers will receive one free latex team cap and additional caps may be purchased for $3.00. Additional caps will be billed to your Splash Fee Account. Wearing a team cap shows unity and also makes it easier for coaches, parents and teammates to identify swimmers. If you have any questions please contact Head Coach Shane Ryan.
